Our Story

A Top Wholesale and Newly Added Retail Plant Nursery in Zolfo Springs

Friendship Foliage is a family owned and operated business that started in 1986. Owner/ manager John "Bruce" Klein worked in different nurseries as a boy, until he was able to start his own. He grew many different types of plants. In 2004, that all changed when Hurricane Charley wiped out half of the nursery. The other half of the nursery was all spath which happened to be Friendship Foliage's best seller. From that day forward, he only grew peace lilies. He grows many varieties, but all of which are from the spath family. Today, Friendship Foliage is known for specializing in and producing the highest quality of plants to their customers. Throughout the horticulture industry, Bruce is known for truly having a passion for growing plants and giving his customers the best that there is to offer. Bruce's wife (Donna) and two children (Eric and Claudia) have joined his efforts in running a family business. After graduating from the University of Florida, Eric and Claudia have brought in new ideas along with new varities of clean air plants! They are excited to continue growing Friendship Foliage! While continuing to be a top wholesale nursery, they are thrilled to add retail to the business! They guarantee you’ll receive only the best quality products and service from Friendship Foliage.

FAQs

WHERE SHOULD I KEEP MY PEACE LILY?

Peace lilies are typically indoor plants. The plant will do best when placed near a window which allows natural light to shine in on the plant. Peace lilies can live outside, as long as they are in a shaded area. Peace lilies should not be placed in direct sunlight.

WHAT MAKES A PEACE LILY DIFFERENT THAN OTHER PLANTS?

Peace Lilies clean the air around them, unlike most other plants. They filter out toxic air pollutants by absorbing the unwanted chemicals through their leaves.  https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/houseplants/peace-lily/do-peace-lilies-help-air-quality.htm

HOW OFTEN DO I NEED TO WATER MY PEACE LILY AND HOW MUCH WATER DO I USE?

Peace lilies should be watered every 2 to 3 days or when the soil is dry. Pour water onto the base of the plant.
6" -around 4oz  and  8"/10" -around 8oz
The amount will vary depending on the plant's environment. Use enough water to moisten the soil, but keep in mind, the plant should not be in standing water. If the plant is wilting, it is not getting enough water. It will pop back up after being watered.

WHAT IF THERE IS AN UNHEALTHY LEAF ON MY PLANT?

Peace lilies do not need to be pruned very often. However, if there is a brown leaf that comes up on your plant, you can pull it off or use scissors to remove it. If a leaf or an old bloom turns brown, cut it off carefully without damaging any of the other leaves. If a leaf becomes discolored, that is likely a result of your plant becoming too dry.

In regards to the blooms, do not worry about blooms that begin to green and get brown spots as that is part of the bloom lifecycle.

WHAT IF THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH MY PACKAGE?

We carefully package each of our plants to ensure the plant's safety. We also make sure they arrive in a timely manner. Peace lilies are strong and will repair themselves with care, but if a plant arrives damaged in transit, immediately take pictures of both the package and plant. Contact us so we can help.
